How to Look and Feel 15 Years Younger

When I get asked how old I am, and I give my age, I always get a surprised response.  They say I look about 15 years younger.  I credit this to the fact that I follow the principles of maintaining optimal health and anti-aging.  The principles involve using a balanced diet, nutritional supplements, exercise, stress-reduction habits, hormonal optimization methods, a positive attitude, and a balanced lifestyle.  I would like to share how I apply these principles here.

How to Look and Feel Young:

  • Take a high quality, high potency multivitamin and mineral supplement for men over 40
  • Take extra antioxidants and high dose vitamin C for healthy aging and preventing wrinkles from free radical damage
  • Take extra vitamin B5, vitamin B3, and fish oil for healthy cholesterol levels
  • Take extra vitamin D, a hormone-like vitamin that provides numerous benefits
  • Take krill oil (or fish oil) for the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids
  • Take amino acid combinations, and DHEA for healthy growth hormone and testosterone levels
  • Take an herbal combination of Eurycoma longifolia (Tongkat Ali Root Extract), Lepidium meyenii (Maca Root Extract), Pausinystalia yohimbe (Yohimbe Bark Extract), Epimedium sagittatum (Horny Goat Weed Aerial Part Extract) and Panax ginseng for optimum virility, vitality, and energy
  • Take a combination of creatine monohydrate, ribose and L-carnitine for maximizing exercise capacity and results
  • Intense weight training exercise 4 to 5 days each week
  • Aerobic exercise 4 days/week
  • Have a positive attitude and finding positive/productive lessons in all situations
  • Choose to thoughtfully respond rather than emotionally react
  • Plan and prepare healthy meals and snacks each day
  • Eat small frequent meals and snacks consistently
  • Have daily 5-10 minutes of concentrated relaxation time at mid-day
  • Drink at least 1/2 ounce of water for each pound of body weight per day
  • Get to sleep by 10 pm every night as much as possible
  • Get up to exercise by 5 or 6 am most mornings
  • Practice good posture and good body mechanics
  • Take slow, deep breaths during stressful situations
  • Get chiropractic adjustments and massage at least once a month, and more often when under extra stress

  4. Recently, Whole Foods pulled krill oil supplements from its store shelves because, as noted in the statement the company has posted in its stores for customers to read, “Krill are an important source of food for marine animals including penguins, seals, and whales in the Antarctic. Declines of some predator populations in the areas where the krill fishery operates suggest that fishery management needs to better understand how to evaluate the prey requirements of other marine species in order to set sustainable catch levels for krill.”

Whole Foods further notes that it has chosen to discontinue selling krill oil supplements as it continues to monitor research on the matter. The company asks customers to consider alternatives to krill oil, including astaxanthin and fish oil.
